Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely loving travelling, however whilst being away the past three months I have discovered that there are certain things which are just not the same as back home. So, here is a list of things that I’ve taken for granted most of my life and now miss dearly…

  • Family & friends
  • Nando’s
  • Fish & Chips
  • Carpets- I invested in a pair of slippers as soon as I got here
  • Comfort food- especially mashed potatoes
  • Proper cup of Yorkshire tea
  • Walkers crisps
  • British politeness
  • Understanding the language
  • Wetherspoons
  • Getting absolutely wasted and feeling safe in a city you know
  • Phone service
  • Predrinks
  • Peach schnapps
  • Larger selection of clothes to wear
  • Sleeping in your own bed
  • Baths
  • Not having to unpack & pack your bag every few days
  • Normal sliced bread

I’m sure there’s more that I’ve missed off this list and I know that as soon as I get home I’ll want to be travelling again. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
